About the position

The Clinical Nurse Informaticist at Optum plays a crucial role in optimizing the use of Electronic Health Records (EHR) and related clinical applications. This position focuses on enhancing healthcare delivery through data analysis, workflow optimization, and ongoing education in informatics. The role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure the effective integration of health information technology into clinical practices, ultimately aiming to improve patient care and safety outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Medical Director of IT/EMR and Manager Informatics to develop outcome-oriented work plans and manage project activities.
• Incorporate health information technology into workflows impacting clinical and non-clinical users.
• Act as a change agent to enhance quality patient care and standardized professional practice through informatics strategies.
• Leverage health information technology to prevent medical errors and adverse events.
• Collaborate with leadership in project/program planning that supports departmental and organizational initiatives.
• Promote safe, effective, and efficient use of health IT.
• Provide technical consultation and support to leadership regarding project activities.
• Support the voices and experiences of customers to drive improvement and innovation.
• Establish effective working relationships with senior management, directors, managers, and staff across departments.
• Ensure adherence to Optum Medical Group's mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures.
• Participate in local, regional, and national Informatics committees within Optum.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience in healthcare.
• Current Oregon RN license.
• 3+ years of medical care delivery system experience, preferably in a clinic setting.
• EMR experience.

Nice-to-haves
