About the position

The Interim Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) at Santa Cruz Community Health (SCCH) is a temporary leadership role responsible for overseeing the Nursing Department. The CNM will create and implement clinical nursing protocols, facilitate departmental meetings, and support clinical compliance and quality improvement initiatives. This position is designed to provide administrative support during an ongoing employee absence and is expected to last approximately 4-6 months, with the possibility of extension based on staffing needs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the Nursing Department provides the highest level of clinical care including patient assessment and triage, emergency response, and patient education.
• Supervise and evaluate the performance of the Nursing Department staff, including the Call Center RN.
• Lead the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new nursing staff.
• Support and monitor clinical compliance and quality improvement activities in conjunction with the Quality Department.
• Implement and monitor nursing protocols and clinical policies as mandated by internal and external agencies.
• Represent the Nursing Department on various committees and groups within SCCH.
• Support the development of the RN role within a Team-Based Care model.
• Manage relationships and clinical placements with community partners.

Requirements

• Valid RN certification/license
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Five years of experience in a clinical setting
• Prior supervisory or managerial experience
• Familiarity with EHR, preferably EPIC

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree in Nursing
• Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)
