About the position

The Registered Dietitian for the Clinical Nutrition Manager I position at New York-Presbyterian Hospital in Queens, NY, is responsible for managing the clinical nutrition program, training and supervising a team of dietitians, and collaborating on performance improvement projects. This role involves leadership within the Food and Nutrition Services team and may include food service management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Clinical Nutrition Manager II to train, mentor, and supervise a team of inpatient and outpatient dietitians.
• Provide day-to-day management of the clinical nutrition program.
• Support ongoing Performance Improvement and Quality Management projects.
• Provide training and education to department staff and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals.
• Serve in a leadership role on the Food and Nutrition Services team and assist in food service management as needed.

Requirements

• Registered Dietitian with acute care experience and a strong clinical knowledge base.
• Proven supervisory or management experience.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
• Experience with regulatory accreditation and establishing and maintaining standards of care.
• Strong commitment to excellence in all aspects of patient care.
• Master's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by ACEND, or a Bachelor's degree for those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24.
• Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire.
