About the position

The Clinical Operations Coordinator position at WellMed in Corpus Christi, TX, is a full-time role that plays a crucial part in ensuring high-quality patient care within the clinic. Under the general guidance of the Clinical Administrator, the coordinator will direct, supervise, and coordinate the performance and activities of the clinic staff. This role is essential in maintaining the operational efficiency of the clinic, which serves a significant number of Medicare-eligible seniors. The coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the nursing staff, ensuring that they are well-supported and equipped to provide excellent care to patients. In this position, the Clinical Operations Coordinator will determine staffing needs, prepare work schedules, and make necessary adjustments to accommodate workload fluctuations and personnel shortages. The role also involves assisting with personnel management tasks such as hiring, evaluating job performance, and providing necessary training and orientation for new staff members. The coordinator will monitor clinic expenses and assist with payroll processing, ensuring that all financial aspects of the clinic are managed effectively. Additionally, the coordinator will ensure compliance with OSHA and Infection Control standards, maintain the appearance of the clinic, and manage medical supplies, including ordering and stock level monitoring. Building and maintaining strong relationships with the Administrator, Supervisors, employees, and Physicians is vital for the success of this role. The Clinical Operations Coordinator will also serve as a representative for the clinic in the absence of the Administrator, ensuring continuity of operations and patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the daily activities of the nursing staff in the clinic.
  • Determine clinic staffing needs and prepare work schedules.
  • Assist with personnel hiring, evaluating job performance, and counseling.
  • Ensure staff receives proper orientation and continuing education.
  • Monitor expenses and assist with payroll (ADP).
  • Maintain the appearance of the staff and treatment areas.
  • Ensure OSHA and Infection Control compliance of all personnel.
  • Manage medical supplies, including ordering and stock level monitoring.
  • Strengthen relationships with the Administrator, Supervisors, employees, and Physicians.
  • Serve as the representative/liaison for the clinic in the absence of the Administrator.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • 2+ years of clinic operations or healthcare experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Excel
  • Computer literacy
  • Knowledge of organization policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of fiscal management and human resource management techniques
  • Knowledge of office management techniques and practices
  • Skill in gathering, analyzing, and evaluating data
  • Skill in written and verbal communication
  • Ability to exercise initiative, problem solving, decision-making
  • Ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during normal business hours.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in a clinic setting
  • Current Texas Vocational Nurse License
