About the position

The Clinical Operations Director is responsible for leading and overseeing clinical operations within Specialty Based Care at Intermountain Healthcare. This role focuses on achieving operational effectiveness, safety, quality, and patient experience goals across designated units. The director collaborates with various stakeholders to ensure safe transitions for patients and is accountable for compliance with regulatory standards while fostering a culture of extraordinary care.

Responsibilities

  • Direct leadership and operational responsibility for designated clinical operations within Specialty Based Care.
  • Achieve operational effectiveness, safety, quality, and patient experience goals within assigned units.
  • Partner with the Executive Director of Clinical Operations SBC to provide leadership and oversight.
  • Collaborate with leaders and peers to ensure safe and effective transitions for patients.
  • Utilize the Intermountain Operating Model to assess and improve operational processes and practices.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and regulatory bodies including The Joint Commission and OSHA.
  • Lead and supervise clinical operations staff, focusing on coaching, development, and performance management.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and standards of care, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Manage financial aspects of designated clinical operations, including budget development and monitoring.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality patient care through ongoing evaluation and monitoring of clinical outcomes.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Nursing, Business, or Health Administration from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed to practice as an RN in the State of Utah.
  • Basic Life Support certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
  • Five years of leadership experience managing patient care services in a complex healthcare environment.
  • Experience directing clinical areas and implementing clinical strategies and operational efforts.
  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet, e-mail, and scheduling applications.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a leadership role requiring strong relationships and influence in a matrix environment.
  • Analytical skills and expertise in data management.
  • Five years of experience in nursing, business administration, or service-line specific.
