About the position

The Clinical Operations Director (COD) is a Registered Nurse responsible for coordinating the delivery of Patient Care Services across various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. This leadership role involves administrative oversight of the Division of Patient Care Services and ensures the provision of safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. The COD plays a crucial role in staffing management and decision-making regarding patient admissions and transfers, ensuring optimal patient throughput within the hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the delivery of Patient Care Services during day, evening, and night hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Assume administrative responsibility for the Division of Patient Care Services.
  • Manage staff resources to ensure appropriate staffing levels for patient care.
  • Make immediate management decisions regarding patient care situations.
  • Ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and quality patient care.
  • Coordinate admissions, transfers, and timely patient throughput by assigning beds appropriately.

Requirements

  • A minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in an acute care setting.
  • Prior experience in a leadership role is preferred.
  • Demonstrated effective management and leadership skills.
  • Graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing.
  • BSN degree required.
  • Current NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse).
  • Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers).
  • Certain specialties may require advanced certification (i.e. ACLS, NALS, PALS).
