About the position

The Clinical Operations Specialist (COS) at Advanced Oxygen Therapy Inc (AOTI) plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality and efficiency of medical necessity documentation processes related to the company's innovative Topical Wound Oxygen (TWO2) therapy. This position focuses on improving the customer ordering experience, engaging with referral sources, and mentoring staff while collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement scalable processes and digital tools for a rapidly growing company.

Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate the work of Patient Account Coordinators to ensure accuracy and compliance with medical necessity documentation.
  • Provide constructive feedback and training to staff to aid in their professional growth and development.
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to enhance the customer ordering experience.
  • Develop and execute strategies to increase the utilization of electronic ordering systems.
  • Train hospital and office staff on AOTI's medical necessity documentation processes to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Develop strong relationships with healthcare providers to understand their needs and improve service delivery.
  • Lead discussions with Wound Clinics and Physician Offices to identify and address barriers to efficient order processing.
  • Advocate for seamless first-time order submissions by promoting electronic ordering and other streamlined processes.

Requirements

  • LVN/LPN background; current licensure is optional if relevant wound industry experience and tenure are met.
  • 10 years of experience in the wound care industry; DME wound experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of medical necessity documentation and prior authorization for advanced wound therapies.
  • Extensive knowledge of standards of care across all wound types.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and engage with healthcare professionals.
  • Proficiency in electronic ordering systems and other healthcare technologies.
