About the position

The Clinical Pharmacist Lead at Missouri Baptist Medical Center is responsible for overseeing pharmacy operations within the cancer center and investigational drug program. This role involves collaboration with pharmacy, provider, and nursing leadership to enhance patient care and support the pharmacy team. The lead pharmacist will assess and modify medication use, supervise pharmacy staff, and ensure compliance with regulations while promoting optimal drug therapy.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates medication orders for appropriateness with regard to patient condition, organ function, and concomitant therapies to promote optimal patient outcomes.
• Documents all activities and communication as appropriate.
• Directs and manages workflow in focused area of pharmacy practice, ensuring the accuracy of work performed by pharmacists, technicians, interns, and volunteers.
• Participates in the delivery of educational programs within and outside of the pharmacy department.
• Serves on committees at the health service organization.
• Leads the development, review, and implementation of policies and procedures.
• Provides advanced level support to the professional, operational, and patient care aspects of the pharmacy department.
• Identifies and implements improvements to the medication use process.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy
• 2-5 years of experience in pharmacy
• Less than 2 years of supervisory experience
• Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) in Missouri

Nice-to-haves

• Doctorate in Pharmacy
• Completion of Pharmacy Residency
• 5-10 years of experience in pharmacy
