About the position
The Clinical Pharmacist at Sunrise Hospital plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for patients. This position involves daily interactions with healthcare teams to monitor and evaluate prescribed therapies, provide medication information, and participate in training new pharmacists and pharmacy students. The role is integral to promoting optimal drug use and reducing risks associated with medication misadventures.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and evaluate prescribed therapies to promote optimal drug use.
- Provide medication information and consultation on pharmacokinetics, dose adjustments, and medication monitoring.
- Participate in the training of new pharmacists, pharmacy students, and technicians.
- Intervene in conflicts between the Pharmacy and medical staff regarding drug therapy issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science or Doctorate degree in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy.
- Active pharmacist license in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy.
- One year of acute care hospital experience.
