About the position

The Clinical Program Manager for the SMART program at the Cook County Sheriff's Office is responsible for overseeing the operational and programmatic components of a court-ordered custodial treatment program for men. This role focuses on identifying risk factors related to substance abuse and developing positive behaviors to support recovery and reintegration into the community. The manager will implement new programming, maintain relationships with community partners, and assist in program evaluation and data collection.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all day-to-day operational and programmatic components of the court-ordered custodial substance use program for men at CCDOC.
  • Oversee the implementation of new onsite programming opportunities for the treatment population.
  • Maintain a centralized system for documenting individual client progress and track project metrics over time.
  • Communicate regularly with CCDOC sworn leadership to ensure appropriate program enrollment and notifications.
  • Ensure services address the bio-psychosocial factors contributing to addiction and incarceration.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary client-focused team meetings with courtroom staff.
  • Audit program alerts in the jail management system to keep the program dashboard updated.
  • Collaborate with ADA compliance officer for program enrollment of individuals with additional needs.
  • Liaison between outside organizations and CCDOC sworn leadership to facilitate onsite programming.
  • Propose, plan, and implement new initiatives to strengthen services provided to the population.

Requirements

  • Possession of a master's or higher degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work or a closely related field.
  • Possession of, or working towards, an active state licensure in social work or counseling.
  • Possession of a Substance Abuse Counselor Certification.
  • Two or more years of full-time professional work experience in a correctional or closely related setting.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work directly with the Individuals in Custody population.

Nice-to-haves

  • Possession of bilingual language skills.
  • Familiarity with laws governing the establishment and operation of the Cook County Department of Corrections.
