About the position

The Clinical Program Manager is a Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for overseeing the Spine program, ensuring the delivery of safe, quality patient care while complying with regulatory standards and administrative policies. This role involves collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team, implementing quality and safety initiatives, and serving as a clinical resource to enhance patient outcomes. The manager will also support quality improvement initiatives and maintain a patient care environment that fosters a knowledgeable and engaged staff.

Responsibilities

  • Partner effectively with physician and executive leadership in managing all aspects of the spine program.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for regulatory requirements and best practices associated with the program.
  • Monitor and analyze key quality indicators to guide performance improvement related to the program.
  • Manage the application for certification in collaboration with the Regulatory Program Manager.
  • Oversee the survey process, including planning and coordination, and respond to certification and regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborate with team members in developing methodology and procedures for data collection.
  • Gather and compile raw data from various sources and ensure timely, accurate data collection.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports and presentations to appropriate committees and management.
  • Facilitate adherence to best practices and quality indicators through patient and multidisciplinary rounds.
  • Assist in spine program development and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure continuous compliance with certification standards and update pathways, protocols, and patient educational materials.
  • Monitor outcomes data and collections and actively participate in the certification process.
  • Collaborate with leadership and interdisciplinary teams to develop and audit corrective action plans related to organizational goals.
  • Facilitate program committee meetings and maintain required records.
  • Provide reports on program performance and initiatives as requested.
  • Coordinate and teach classes related to the Spine program to internal and external audiences.
  • Collaborate with clinical leadership in developing policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master of Science in Nursing.
  • Minimum three (3) years of related clinical experience in the acute care setting.
  • Current unencumbered licensure as an RN from the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Ability to apply quality improvement methodology (PDSA) to performance improvement initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a health-related field.
  • At least five (5) years of related experience.
  • Clinical experience in spinal surgery.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in a Quality Improvement program.
  • Experience administering or managing parts of a project or program within healthcare.
  • Experience interpreting program policies and making recommendations for change.
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality.
  • Bilingual skills.
