About the position

The Clinical Programmer - Cardiology at USA Health is responsible for designing, building, configuring, installing, and maintaining enterprise software, particularly focusing on Electronic Health Records (EHR) and other area-specific software. This role involves utilizing the Agile project management lifecycle to enhance software functionality and ensure efficient operations within the healthcare system. The position requires collaboration with IT staff, clinical staff, and administration to improve patient care through advanced technology solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, configure, install, and maintain enterprise software and area-specific software.
  • Work with Electronic Health Records (EHR) software and other programming duties, such as C+ custom applications.
  • Utilize the Agile project management lifecycle in programming activities.
  • Research, design, implement, and manage software programs.
  • Test and evaluate new programs and identify areas for modification in existing programs.
  • Write and implement efficient code and determine operational practicality.
  • Develop quality assurance procedures and software tools, processes, and metrics.
  • Maintain and upgrade existing systems and develop training materials for users.
  • Train users on new software and systems as needed.
  • Adhere to University and Health System policies, including confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and maintain regular attendance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
  • Four years of related professional experience in medical technology or information technology.
  • Registry eligible with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists as a Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Scientist, or equivalent experience with a high school diploma and eight years of related experience.
