About the position

The Clinical Programmer position at USA Health involves designing, building, configuring, installing, and maintaining enterprise software to enhance medical care and research. Responsibilities

  • Designs, builds, configures, installs, and maintains enterprise software.
  • Researches, designs, implements, and manages software programs.
  • Tests and evaluates new programs.
  • Identifies areas for modification in existing programs and develops these modifications.
  • Writes and implements efficient code.
  • Determines operational practicality of software solutions.
  • Develops quality assurance procedures and software tools.
  • Maintains and upgrades existing systems.
  • Develops training materials and trains users as needed.
  • Works closely with IT staff, clinical staff, and administration.
  • Adheres to University and Health System policies, including confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
  • Maintains strong technical understanding of organizational EHR related systems such as Cerner, AthenaHealth, and Phillips.
  • Participates in on-call rotation and maintains regular attendance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or computer science from an accredited institution.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field with one year of computer programming or EHR build experience.
  • Associate degree in computer programming, information technology, or related field with five years of computer programming or IT experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent with eight years of related experience in information technology.
