About the position

The Clinical Project Manager supports the mission of LCHC by providing project leadership for any assigned projects, which could include projects related to clinical operations and practice transformation, compliance and patient safety, and other strategic objectives of LCHC. The Project Manager will scope and plan projects and proposals, assemble project teams, oversee, track progress, troubleshoot issues, and ultimately own the success of all assigned projects. This position is a key member of LCHC's Medical Administration team, reporting to the Quality and Compliance Director and under the oversight of LCHC's Chief Clinical Officers. A successful project manager is organized, detail oriented, a clear communicator, can build strong relationships across teams, and is able to influence without direct authority. This role regularly reports updates to, and consults with, senior leaders to ensure projects remain on track, KPIs are met, and issues are properly understood and mitigated.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that provide valuable insight on areas of opportunity for LCHC to improve clinical operations, quality, and patient safety.
  • Investigate issues and areas of concern; conduct audits and root cause analyses as needed.
  • Work with the Data Analytics team to refine reporting, data presentation, and data communication related to areas such as provider performance and productivity, operational and clinical quality, and service utilization.
  • Attend meetings as assigned or requested to engage stakeholders within LCHC, learn about LCHC processes and about the felt needs of Care Teams, and support grassroots process improvement efforts occurring within departments across LCHC.
  • Conduct project scoping and requirements gathering.
  • Assemble project teams that engage the necessary experts and stakeholders within the project's scope.
  • Build, manage, and organize appropriate project plans for any assigned projects.
  • Develop and maintain needed project materials, prepare agendas and take minutes for project meetings.
  • Efficiently and effectively run project meetings, assuring follow-ups are captured and deliverables completed, to drive progress toward project completion.
  • Track progress of projects and ensure all milestones and timelines are met, quickly identifying and escalating any risks to meeting these milestones and timelines.
  • Collaborate and negotiate with project sponsors and other stakeholders on project strategy, timeframes, and specific objectives.
  • Provide coordination among multiple stakeholder groups and project team members to bring alignment and shared understandings of project scope, timelines, milestones, assigned action items and expectations.
  • Employ change management strategies and tactics.
  • Work closely with the Quality and Compliance Director and the Chief Clinical Officers to ensure that projects and project tactics align with LCHC's strategic goals.
  • Use AIDET and other tools to provide excellent customer service to project team members, stakeholders, and impacted LCHC staff.
  • For seasonally recurring projects, track project schedules and due dates, maintain documentation of requirements including revisions due to changed requirements or objectives, and engage stakeholders across LCHC at necessary times.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in complex project coordination or management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Formal Project Management training a plus.
  • Excellent organizational, teamwork, managerial, and computer skills.
  • Knowledge and experience with Electronic Health Records; experience with Epic a plus.
  • Proficiency with Project Management tools such as Smartsheet, Excel, Microsoft Project, Monday.
  • Ability to strongly embrace and personify the mission of the Lawndale Christian Health Center.
  • Detail-oriented and results-driven approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to do data inquiry and analysis using current tools available at LCHC.
  • Comfort working independently and effectively as a sole contributor and as part of a team.
  • Prioritizes and efficiently allocates time and attention, works in a structured manner and uses systems and tools to ensure follow through on deliverables by providing status updates and meeting expected deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior relevant healthcare experience preferred.
