About the position
The Department of Psychiatry at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center is seeking a licensed Clinical Psychologist to join a multidisciplinary team focused on the evaluation and treatment of older adults. This role involves providing psychological assessments, consultations, and treatment, as well as supervising residents and psychology trainees. The position allows for both short-term and long-term psychological treatment, with a hybrid work schedule that includes both remote and on-site responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide psychological assessments and consultations for older adults.
- Deliver short-term and long-term psychological treatment as needed.
- Supervise residents, psychology trainees, and other students in the Department of Psychiatry.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to address the specific challenges faced by older adults.
- Utilize therapeutic techniques such as ACT, DBT, and CBT-I in treatment plans.
Requirements
- Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology accredited by The American Psychological Association.
- Current license as a Psychologist by the Board of Examiners of Psychologists of Maine.
- Minimum of three years of experience in a clinical psychology setting.
- At least two years of clinical experience in psychological assessment and treatment.
- Strong personal and interpersonal skills for conducting individual, family, and group therapy sessions.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working with patients in the early phases of neurocognitive disorders.
- Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities such as ACT, DBT, and CBT-I.
