About the position

The Licensed Clinical Psychologist position at Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD) focuses on providing mental health assessments, counseling services, and clinical testing to a diverse patient population. This role is integral to delivering exceptional healthcare, particularly to underserved communities, and involves collaboration with a multi-disciplinary treatment team to develop individualized care plans and address co-occurring disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Perform age-appropriate psychological testing, including creation of summary reports.
  • Perform initial and ongoing assessments for assigned patients.
  • Participate in the development of patients' individualized care plans.
  • Provide clinical testing for patients.
  • Provide treatment to assigned patients within scope of practice, meeting program/department productivity and quality standards.
  • Demonstrate awareness of transference and counter-transference issues and address them as they arise.
  • Address co-occurring disorders, factoring them into patient's treatment plan.
  • Work effectively as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team.
  • Communicate with providers, physicians, case managers, scheduling staff, referring providers, and outside agencies in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Connect patients to internal/external resources as appropriate; accurately document referrals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Active registration in good standing as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with the BBS in California required.
  • Psychological testing experience required.
