About the position

The Clinical Psychologist V position at The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD involves providing psychological and applied behavior analysis services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as those in the general population. The role includes consultation on program design, mentoring staff, conducting assessments, and implementing therapeutic interventions. The psychologist will also participate in applied research and community training related to developmental disabilities and feeding disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Administers and interprets psychological tests and conducts psychological assessments and diagnoses.
  • Provides therapeutic interventions in individual, family, and/or group settings.
  • Conducts behavior analyses and designs and monitors behavior modification and skill acquisition plans.
  • Collaborates with others regarding program policy and designs program development and outcome evaluation projects.
  • May supervise the work of others.
  • Establishes and maintains a professional affiliation with an institution of higher learning.
  • Meets all required education and training in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Complies with all safety and health requirements and regulations.

Requirements

  • Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.) or equivalent in clinical, counseling, developmental or behavioral psychology.
  • Minimum of four (4) plus years of experience with clinical/psychological assessments of individuals with mental illness.
  • Licensed as a Psychologist in the State of Texas.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License and safe driving record with proof of insurance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in mentoring other staff members.
  • Knowledge of autism and feeding disorders.
