About the position

The position involves working closely with a Sales Representative to assist in the planning, directing, and coordination of the marketing and selling of Stryker products to healthcare professionals. The role requires frequent travel to cover for employees on leave and to maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring the effective promotion and sales of Stryker products across multiple territories.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Sales Representatives in marketing, promoting, and selling Stryker products when not covering for leaves of absence.
  • Responsible for marketing, promoting, and selling Stryker products while covering for employees on leave.
  • Travel frequently, often on short notice, to perform sales tasks and provide coverage for employees on leave.
  • Educate and inform healthcare staff about the proper use and maintenance of Stryker products.
  • Tailor promotional messages based on customer knowledge and advise on product selection.
  • Direct product evaluations in operating room and office settings.
  • Assist in the preparation and operation of trade shows and clinical meetings.
  • Keep the regional manager informed of territory progress regularly.
  • Solve product problems for customers efficiently.
  • Manage and maintain a sample inventory of products.
  • Understand and adhere to all OR and OSHA guidelines during product evaluations.
  • Exhibit a basic understanding of computers for utilizing Stryker SIS program.
  • Adhere to all GMP policies and procedures as stipulated by the FDA.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years in an outside sales position, preferably in medical-related fields.
  • B.A. or B.S. degree required.
  • Field sales training and successful completion of in-house product training program.
  • Computer training and proficiency in using common office equipment.
  • Ability to handle routine overnight travel on short notice, for extended periods of time.
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with large groups and telephonically.
  • Ability to negotiate price and terms of transactions with customers.
  • Ability to solve customer complaints and provide excellent customer service.
  • Command of all products, including functionality and features.
