About the position
The Clinical Research Assistant I will support the POINT Study, a national initiative focused on identifying potentially inappropriate inter-hospital transfers (IHT) to improve patient safety and healthcare processes. This entry-level position involves working within a multidisciplinary team across 16 hospitals, contributing to data collection, analysis, and communication with stakeholders. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage various administrative tasks related to the research study.
Responsibilities
- Utilize REDCap and Excel for data collection and analysis.
- Assist with preparation of Institutional Review Board (IRB) documentation and forms.
- Schedule conference calls and prepare meeting materials.
- Coordinate and take minutes for team meetings and focus groups.
- Conduct literature searches and maintain a bibliographic library.
- Help prepare talks and presentation materials, including PowerPoint slides.
- Assist in writing formal research reports and manuscripts for publication.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required or higher in a relevant field.
- Interest in healthcare, data analysis, and patient safety.
- Competency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Experience with data management and using MS Access, REDCap, and EndNote.
Nice-to-haves
- Certification in the protection of human research subjects (can be obtained after hire).
- Familiarity with videoconference equipment and webinar setup.
