About the position

The Clinical Research Assistant (CRA) at Panoramic Health plays a crucial role in supporting clinical research coordinators (CRCs) through both direct and administrative involvement in the conduct of research within a clinical setting. This position is designed for individuals who are eager to contribute to the advancement of medical knowledge through clinical trials. The CRA will work closely with multiple coordinators on various clinical trial protocols, acting as a liaison between clinic and research staff to ensure smooth operations and adherence to study protocols. In this role, the CRA is expected to uphold the core values of Panoramic Health and is required to undergo specific training related to research and study protocols. Under the general supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI), the CRA will perform standard research and laboratory procedures while adhering to Good Clinical Practices (GCPs), Panoramic Science Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and the specific requirements of each study protocol. This includes maintaining research records, source documents, and related equipment in a professional manner, as well as assisting CRCs and Research Nurses with various administrative tasks. The responsibilities of the CRA also encompass handling incoming and outgoing calls related to research activities, such as patient scheduling and pre-screening. The CRA will perform routine research visits, which may include taking vital signs, conducting EKGs, and documenting medical histories. Building and maintaining positive relationships with research staff, clinic staff, study participants, and Sponsor/CRO staff is essential. Additionally, the CRA may be required to travel to other locations and attend Investigator and Sponsor meetings as needed, ensuring that all duties are performed with a high level of professionalism and compliance with established guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Follow Good Clinical Practices (GCPs), Panoramic Science Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Study Protocol requirements
  • Maintain research records, source documents, and related equipment in a neat professional manner
  • Assist Clinical Research Coordinator(s) (CRCs) and Research Nurse(s) on study protocols
  • Organize regulatory files and data entry into the study specific electronic data capture (EDC)
  • Organize source documentation in advance of monitoring visits
  • Handle incoming and outgoing calls for research, including patient scheduling and pre-screening
  • Perform aspects of routine research visits, such as vital signs, EKGs, and medical history documentation
  • Maintain positive relationships with research staff, clinic staff, study participants, and Sponsor/CRO staff
  • Travel to other locations and to Investigator and Sponsor meetings as needed
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested

Requirements

  • MA certification
  • Bachelor's degree in health-related field preferred
  • Prior research exposure
  • 1-year clinical experience as a MA or research assistant preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology/research
  • Phlebotomy skills a plus
  • Ability to multi-task and re-prioritize duties as needed
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Computer skills required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Working knowledge of GCP and other research guidelines helpful
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly with all internal and external customers
