About the position

The Clinical Research Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the coordination and implementation of clinical research projects under the supervision of the Clinical Research Manager and Principal Investigator. This position involves managing data, ensuring compliance with protocols, and facilitating communication among various stakeholders involved in clinical trials.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct recruitment, screening, and enrolling of eligible patients into clinical trials.
  • Explain protocol details and conduct informed consent procedures with potential research participants.
  • Assist the Clinical Research Manager in preparing for site visits and study initiation.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all assigned protocols and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain study-specific supplies and equipment.
  • Collect study specimens according to protocol, processing, and preparing for shipping.
  • Attend study meetings as requested by the Clinical Research Manager and/or Principal Investigator.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Research Nurse and Principal Investigator to manage study activities.
  • Collect, enter, and compile clinical data required by protocol, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of data entry.
  • Maintain study files pertaining to clinical trials and complete source documents/case report forms.
  • Communicate with the Clinical Research Manager, Principal Investigator, subjects, sponsors, and other clinical trial personnel in a timely and comprehensive manner.
  • Document any adverse events or protocol deviations appropriately.
  • Coordinate with the Clinical Research Manager to identify procedures, laboratory tests, and protocol events that require consideration for compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Principal Investigator and Clinical Research Manager to develop training materials for key personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or 5 years of research or healthcare-related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 5 years of experience in research or healthcare.
  • Proficiency in software applications, databases, spreadsheets, and word processing.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other professionals.
