About the position

The Clinical Research Associate Coordinator at The Ohio State University will play a vital role in supporting clinical research studies, particularly focusing on maternal-infant health. This position involves assisting in various stages of research, including planning, participant recruitment, data collection, and regulatory compliance, while collaborating with a research team to enhance health outcomes through evidence-based practices.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the planning, launch, maintenance, and close out of clinical research studies.
  • Recruit, enroll, and randomize research participants for active clinical research studies.
  • Conduct study visits and collect data from research participants, including administering questionnaires and conducting interviews.
  • Collect, label, transport, process, and assay biological specimens as needed.
  • Enter, clean, and organize data using tools such as Microsoft Teams, Excel, and Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap).
  • Monitor, organize, maintain, and order supplies for various laboratory needs.
  • Monitor and contribute to regulatory compliance, such as with the Institutional Review Board and National Institutes of Health.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, or other medical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • 0 years of relevant experience required; 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication skills.
  • Previous clinical and/or community research experience preferred but not required.
