About the position

The Clinical Research Associate II position at Stony Brook University involves overseeing the progress of clinical trials from planning through completion. The role requires coordination of research trials, ensuring compliance with federal guidelines, and interacting with various stakeholders including investigators and regulatory agencies. The incumbent will work independently under the general direction of the Principal Investigator and may supervise other staff.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate various research trials and ensure compliance with federal guidelines.
• Screen, consent, and enroll patients for clinical research trials; complete study patient visits; collect, enter, and submit clinical trial patient data.
• Collection, processing, and shipment of human blood samples and biospecimens.
• Perform administrative duties such as billing, budgeting, and contract administration; maintain clinical research study supplies and drug accountability.
• Interact and correspond with various internal and external constituents including sponsors, cooperative groups, Institutional Review Board, and regulatory agencies.
• Assist principal investigators with grant submissions and renewals.
• May supervise or coordinate the work of other staff.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (foreign equivalent or higher).
• Three (3) years of full-time research experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Four (4) years or more of full-time related research experience.
• Five (5) years or more of experience in clinical trials and regulatory compliance.
• Phlebotomy experience.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
