About the position

The Clinical Research Associate position is situated within the Clinical Nutrition Research Center (CNRC) at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, IL. The CNRC is dedicated to conducting clinical research trials aimed at uncovering the health benefits associated with various foods and food components. This research focuses on critical aspects such as safety, efficacy, dose response, bioavailability, and the behavioral mechanisms through which food compounds can enhance health outcomes. The role of the dietary research technician is pivotal, as it involves assisting and supporting researchers in the execution of clinical nutrition trials, particularly in the realm of dietary services. This position is full-time and offers an opportunity to engage in meaningful research that contributes to the field of nutrition and health.

Responsibilities

• Assist researchers in conducting clinical nutrition trials.
• Support dietary services related to clinical research.
• Ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and regulations.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of research activities.
• Communicate effectively with team members and participants.

Requirements

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in food/nutrition or related field required.
• AAS degree or completion of two years of coursework in a program meeting the educational standards established by the American Dietetic Association is required.
• BS degree in food/nutrition is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of previous food service experience, preferably as a Dietitian Technician.
• Good communication skills and basic computer skills are essential.
• Ability to read, write, use simple math, and follow oral and written instructions.

Nice-to-haves

• Strong statistics background is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills are a plus.
