About the position

The Clinical Research Associate position at San Diego State University focuses on supporting clinical services and research related to autism spectrum disorder. The role involves conducting psychological assessments and collaborating with a diverse interdisciplinary team, including faculty, clinicians, and trainees. This position is primarily clinical support rather than a direct research or project coordinator role.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychological assessments (cognitive, psychodiagnostic, developmental, and neuropsychological) with children and/or adults with or without developmental disorders (70%)
  • Participate in community outreach efforts aimed at participant recruitment and retention (10%)
  • Train new clinical research personnel
  • Monitor and supervise clinical data entry and quality assurance through data capturing databases
  • Perform other duties in support of ongoing research (20%)

Requirements

  • MA/MS degree in psychology, allied health sciences, or related field
  • Four years experience in clinical settings or with clinical populations, including a minimum of 1 year applied experience with standardized psychodiagnostics testing

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disorders
  • Experience with generating written diagnostic reports and behavioral notes
  • Experience with database and data capturing software (e.g., REDCap) or electronic health records (EHR)
  • Proficiency in Spanish
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including occasional weekend and evening hours
