About the position

The Clinical Research Business Analyst II position at Yale University is a full-time role focused on reviewing and analyzing business and technical requirements to define the scope and objectives for new or existing clinical trials. This position is integral to the study teams, working closely with them to gather requirements and devise procedures that address complex problems at a high technical level throughout all phases of protocol development and programming activities. Unlike a general Business Analyst role, this position specifically requires candidates with a background in clinical research. In this role, the analyst will develop the initial project charter, clarifying project scope, requirements, measurable outcomes, and project benefits in collaboration with process owners. The analyst will document current and future business processes using standard process modeling tools and methodologies aimed at process improvement. They will decompose high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements, managing the development of functional specifications by collaborating with process owners, gathering business requirements, and resolving design issues. The analyst will represent requirements using various views, such as analysis models, prototypes, or scenarios, providing concise analysis to enable business owners to make informed decisions regarding problem resolution and opportunity realization. They will lead requirements analysis and verification, ensuring that requirement statements are complete, consistent, and verifiable, conforming to established standards. Additionally, the analyst will contribute to testing and quality assurance processes, collaborating with developers and end-users to ensure that application functionality meets client needs. The role also involves prioritizing requirements and conducting solution risk analysis, planning and communicating departmental readiness, and supporting metrics integration for optimal results. The analyst will develop and deliver training to end users and may perform other duties as assigned.
