About the position

The Clinical Research Coordinator A/B position at the University of Pennsylvania involves managing multiple clinical trials within the Department of Surgery Research Administration. The role includes responsibilities such as patient screening, subject enrollment, data collection, and assisting with Institutional Review Board (IRB) processes. The CRC A focuses on coordinating studies, while the CRC B independently manages complex trials and mentors other staff. This position is contingent upon continued grant funding.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management of multiple clinical trials.
  • Coordinate the screening of patients and subject enrollment.
  • Collect and store biological samples and related study documents.
  • Collect clinical data and assist with IRB filings and inquiries.
  • Prepare manuscripts, grant proposals, and research presentations.
  • Work closely with the Principal Investigator and study team to identify problems and develop solutions.
  • Implement approved changes to procedures and monitor results.
  • Manage different phases of complex clinical trials (CRC B).
  • Mentor coordinators and research assistants (CRC B).
  • Create multi-center budgets and manage expenses (CRC B).
  • Participate in study team and compliance meetings (CRC B).
  • Support monitoring of external sites and assist in managing multisite trials (CRC B).

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science and 1 to 2 years of experience for CRC A or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor of Science and 2 to 3 years of experience for CRC B or equivalent combination of education and experience.
