About the position

The position serves as a coordinator for complex clinical research studies, assisting the research director and investigators. The role involves managing multiple studies simultaneously, ensuring compliance with study protocols, and acting as a liaison between various stakeholders including the school, sponsoring agency, community, and study participants. The coordinator is responsible for recruiting and enrolling subjects, maintaining documentation, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Recruits, screens, and enrolls subjects into various clinical trials.
  • Ensures compliance of enrollment coordinators with protocol guidelines and regulatory agency requirements.
  • Acts as lead study coordinator on clinical trials and assists with training of enrollment coordinators.
  • Explains the purpose of the study to participants and obtains informed consent.
  • Collects and reports adverse events to sponsors and/or IRB.
  • Manages subject timelines for follow-up appointments and assessments.
  • Maintains retention of all study records and ensures compliance with university and hospital policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of two years of clinical research experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire date.
  • Ability to work in higher acuity levels with diverse patient populations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree and/or 3+ years of prior work experience in a clinical research environment.
  • Prior work experience in emergency medicine.
  • Registered nurse, paramedic, medical assistant, or certified clinical research coordinator.
  • Interventional trial lead experience.
  • Regulatory knowledge including navigating the myIRB system.
