About the position

The Clinical Research Coordinator/RN at Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers plays a vital role in managing clinical trials and ensuring patient care aligns with research protocols. This position requires a blend of oncology and research experience, focusing on patient eligibility, informed consent, and compliance with regulatory standards. The coordinator will work closely with physicians and other staff to provide exceptional care to cancer patients while maintaining strict confidentiality and adhering to safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Screens potential patients for protocol eligibility and presents trial concepts to them.
  • Coordinates patient care in compliance with protocol requirements, including disbursing investigational drugs and providing patient education.
  • Maintains investigational drug accountability and documents findings related to patient condition and protocol compliance.
  • Responsible for accurate data collection, documentation, entry, and reporting, and participates in monitoring and auditing activities.
  • Maintains regulatory documents in accordance with USOR SOP and applicable regulations.
  • Participates in training and education programs for clinic staff regarding clinical research.
  • Collaborates with Research Site Leader in the study selection process and may work with other research bases or sponsors.
  • Identifies quality and performance improvement opportunities and collaborates on action plans.
  • Compiles and reports protocol activity, accrual data, and research financial information to administration and physicians.
  • Oversees physician orders to ensure protocol compliance and communicates study requirements and adverse event reporting.
  • Provides a safe environment for patients and staff by complying with federal, state, and professional regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a clinical or scientific related discipline required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum five years of experience in a clinical or scientific related discipline required, preferably in oncology.
  • SoCRA or ACRP certification preferred.
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred) with a minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, preferably in oncology.
  • Current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of practice and current BLS or ACLS certification required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, nursing assessment, anatomy and physiology, clinical medicine, diagnostic tests, radiology, pathology, pharmacology, hematology, oncology, clinical trials, and GCP concepts.
  • Experience with computer data entry and database management.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to interpret technical documents.

Nice-to-haves
