About the position
The Clinical Research Coordinator is responsible for managing the recruitment and enrollment of research subjects in clinical studies, ensuring adherence to protocols, and maintaining accurate data records. This role involves close collaboration with clinical research staff and requires a reliable individual with a strong understanding of medical terminology and research protocols.
Responsibilities
- Recruit and enroll research subjects onto clinical research projects according to study protocols.
- Assess research subjects' eligibility for inclusion based on medical records and protocol requirements.
- Discuss informed consent with research subjects and assist with scheduling appointments and follow-up tests.
- Monitor adherence to protocols by physicians, nurses, and research subjects, identifying and resolving compliance issues.
- Extract and enter data from various medical records into computerized systems.
- Draw blood and process laboratory samples.
Requirements
- AA or BS degree required or relevant experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience with computer systems, including web-based applications and Microsoft Office (EDC, IVRS, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
- Typing speed of 40 WPM or more.
