About the position

The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) position at the Sleep, Cognition and Neuropsychiatry (SCAN) Lab in the Department of Psychiatry at MGH involves assisting with studies focused on the neural basis of cognitive deficits in neuropsychiatric disorders, particularly the impact of abnormal sleep on memory consolidation in schizophrenia and autism. The role requires collaboration with the Principal Investigator and other team members, utilizing techniques such as polysomnography, EEG, and MRI. The position encourages a mentored research project and requires a commitment of at least two years.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, assess, and schedule subjects for participation
• Coordinate and support home-based sleep studies using wearable EEG devices
• Conduct MRI scanning studies
• Maintain subject information database using REDCap or other data capture programs
• Perform quality assurance checks on databases and oversee data integrity
• Assist with data processing and analysis, and manuscript preparation
• Perform administrative support duties as required
• Supervise undergraduate research assistants

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
• Technical aptitude and comfort with troubleshooting
• Excellent knowledge of computerized data processing (word processing, spreadsheets, and databases)
• Strong interpersonal skills for interaction with study subjects and laboratory members
• Ability to demonstrate respect and professionalism for subjects' rights and individual needs

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of psychology, cognitive neuroscience, and/or neurobiology
• Research and/or EEG experience
• Familiarity with Linux/UNIX operating systems
• Experience with Matlab or programming
