About the position

The Clinical Research Coordinator at Guidehouse will play a crucial role in supporting the operational objectives of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI). This full-time, on-site position in Bethesda, MD, involves managing clinical research protocols, ensuring compliance with regulations, and coordinating participant recruitment and study activities. The coordinator will work closely with the Principal Investigator and other team members to facilitate the smooth execution of clinical trials from inception to close-out.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure study compliance with local and federal laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Principal Investigator and team members in managing protocols from inception to study close-out.
  • Recruit and screen potential study participants, perform intake assessments, and obtain informed consent for non-treatment clinical trials.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and ensure timely completion of protocol-required events in conjunction with lab staff and other requirements.
  • Document all patient encounters in the legal medical record and other required areas.
  • Create and maintain all documents and records related to the study.
  • Act as a point of reference for study participants, answering questions and keeping them informed on study progress.
  • Manage the inventory of equipment and supplies related to the study.
  • Draft reports on each study, including notes on protocols, workload, and data collection.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least ONE (1) years of clinical research experience.
  • Understanding of medical terminology and standard clinical procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds for a short period and stand for extended periods.
  • Working knowledge of good clinical practices and federal regulations for clinical trials.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to speak a second language is an asset.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Proficient to intermediate skills in Microsoft 365.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records or electronic data capture systems.
