About the position

The Clinical Research Data Coordinator I at Emory University's Winship Cancer Institute plays a vital role in supporting clinical trials by coordinating and maintaining data activities. This position involves collaboration with various teams to document and report patient enrollment, treatment, and follow-up information, ensuring compliance with research protocols and maintaining data integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Supports and assists in all aspects of clinical data management and protocol data management.
  • Acts as the primary Data Coordinator for therapeutic and non-therapeutic clinical trials across various disease teams.
  • Reviews medical records to extract data for assigned research protocols.
  • Accurately captures and enters data into clinical trial databases within specified timelines.
  • Collects and maintains complete records and metrics on each research study participant.
  • Attends study team meetings to provide updates on protocol data management activities.
  • Completes all required study training and attends protocol-related training meetings.
  • Prepares for and assists with internal quality control audits to verify research data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Supports internal and external monitoring and auditing preparations, including data deficiency corrections.
  • Assists in establishing and maintaining procedures and systems for research coordination and data management.
  • Ensures compliance with departmental, institutional, and federal requirements and regulations.
  • Maintains confidentiality standards for all study participants.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and three years of administrative support experience.
  • Two years of college in a scientific, health-related, or business administration program and one year of admin support or customer service experience.
  • Licensed as a practical nurse (LPN) and one year of admin support or one year of licensed practical nursing experience.
  • Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, MD, or PhD in a scientific, health-related, or business administration program.
