About the position

The Clinical Research Data Specialist position at Vanderbilt University Medical Center is a full-time role within the Critical Illness, Brain Dysfunction, and Survivorship (CIBS) Center. This position involves managing and optimizing REDCap projects, utilizing data visualization tools like Tableau, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to enhance research data integrity and presentation. Responsibilities

  • Design, construct, and manage REDCap projects.
  • Ensure ongoing maintenance and optimization of REDCap environments.
  • Learn and utilize Tableau software to craft insightful data visualizations.
  • Present complex data in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Streamline processes to enhance efficiency and minimize errors.
  • Collaborate closely with statisticians.
  • Implement rigorous data cleaning protocols to ensure study integrity.
  • Keep the team informed on the latest REDCap updates and enhancements.
  • Facilitate smooth integration of new features into existing workflows.
  • Collect, organize, and evaluate data from a variety of reference sources.
  • Develop and document reports and analyses summarizing progress, trends, and conclusions.
  • Develop intuitive software solutions leveraging REDCap's API.
  • Prepare reports for analysis of research data.
  • Assist in modification and coordination of research procedures and techniques.
  • Develop forms and questionnaires that will collect the appropriate data.
  • Create database files and maintain records.
  • Assist in the preparation of materials for publication.
  • Create informational materials related to research/study for dissemination to study participants, researchers, community.
  • Make presentation of study concepts in group session.
  • Supervise Research Analyst I, technical support staff and student assistants.
  • Plan, train, and assign work.
  • Manage inventory of supplies and equipment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 1 year of relevant work experience in clinical research or data management.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools, particularly Tableau.
  • Experience with database management, specifically REDCap.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Nice-to-haves
