About the position
The Clinical Research Finance Coordinator I is responsible for developing clinical trial budgets for various research initiatives, including industry-sponsored, NIH, and investigator-initiated studies. This role involves evaluating research protocols, negotiating budgets, monitoring accounts, and ensuring compliance with federal and local regulations. The coordinator serves as a key resource for financial inquiries and is involved in invoicing and payment tracking for clinical trials.
Responsibilities
- Develop clinical trial budgets for industry, NIH, and investigator-initiated research.
- Evaluate research protocols to assess resource needs and costs.
- Process Ancillary Agreements with departments providing research services.
- Identify and classify expenses as standard-of-care or research-related.
- Negotiate trial budgets and payments with industry sponsors.
- Monitor study accounts for appropriate expenses and reconcile accounts receivable.
- Invoicing sponsors and tracking payments for clinical trials.
- Prepare and deliver financial reports and presentations to stakeholders.
- Enter financial information into the Clinical Trial Management System.
- Review and finalize clinical trial calendars for Medicare coverage analysis.
- Perform Medicare coverage analysis and collaborate with IRB for approvals.
- Review protocol amendments for budget impacts and process amendments.
Requirements
- High School Diploma / GED required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- One year of experience in billing, accounting, finance, budgeting, or financial analysis preferred.
- Certification in Clinical Research preferred.
