About the position

The Clinical Research Financial Analyst is responsible for managing the financial aspects of clinical trials at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). This role involves budget development, negotiation, and accounting of clinical trial revenue and expenses. The analyst will work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure efficient financial processes and compliance with regulations, while also interacting with external sponsors and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage financial processes for clinical trials, including budget development and negotiation.
• Prepare invoices and supporting documentation for submission to sponsors and funding agencies.
• Conduct comprehensive Medicare coverage analysis for study-related charges.
• Ensure accurate accounting of clinical trial revenue and expenses throughout the trial.
• Collaborate with contract attorneys and external study sponsors.
• Develop and refine systems and processes related to clinical trial finances.
• Maintain knowledge of the Code of Federal Regulations and conduct standards for human research.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Science, or Healthcare related field.
• High School diploma or GED with 4 years of related experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
• Level I: 1 year of experience in billing, accounting, finance, budgeting, or financial analysis.
• Level II: 3 years of experience in billing, accounting, finance, budgeting, or financial analysis plus 1+ years of clinical research experience.
• Level III: 5 years of experience in billing, accounting, finance, budgeting, or financial analysis plus 3+ years of clinical research experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Microsoft Access
• Knowledge of clinical trial management systems (CTMS)
• Familiarity with Epic for charge routing
