About the position

The Clinical Research Financial Analyst I at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is responsible for the financial management of clinical trials. This includes budget development, negotiation during trial start-up, and accurate accounting of clinical trial revenue and expenses. The role requires collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure effective financial processes and adherence to quality standards in clinical research.

Responsibilities

• Manage financial processes for clinical trials, including budget development and negotiation of financial terms.
• Prepare invoices and supporting documentation for submission to sponsors and funding agencies.
• Ensure clinical trial revenue is credited and distributed to appropriate accounts.
• Perform comprehensive Medicare coverage analysis to determine appropriate payers for study-related charges.
• Organize complex projects and maintain attention to detail in financial management.
• Communicate effectively with contract attorneys, external sponsors, and research staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Science, or Healthcare related field.
• 1 year of experience in billing, accounting, finance, budgeting, or financial analysis.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with clinical research pre and/or post contract funding.
• Experience with grant management.
