The Division of Oncology at Stanford University is seeking a Clinical Research Financial Analyst to join its finance team. This role is pivotal in managing clinical research trial accounts and providing essential support to the division's financial operations. The successful candidate will work remotely, with an expectation of approximately 3-4 on-site visits per year. The position involves analyzing accounting transactions and summarizing the current financial position at both the unit and organization-wide levels. The analyst will construct and assemble data for decision-making, develop conclusions, and present high-level summaries of recommendations to stakeholders. In this role, the analyst will capture, track, and report revenue and expenses, determining appropriate procedures for accounting record preparation and reporting. They will oversee, reconcile, and resolve issues related to complicated accounts, ensuring accurate financial reporting. The analyst will also collect data and perform research on transaction details, generating and communicating financial data that reflects actual performance against approved budgets. This includes preparing and presenting quantitative and qualitative analyses focusing on variances from budget and prior data. The position requires maintaining and reviewing accounting process controls, recommending and implementing modifications as necessary. The analyst will run and analyze financial reports from multiple systems, preparing management information reports to support decision-making. They will execute internal control programs established by management, research new regulations, and recommend changes as needed. Additionally, the analyst will contribute to unit and organization strategy, assist in developing change management plans, and participate in project teams to support new initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong teamwork skills, the ability to work independently, and effective multitasking capabilities. They must manage conflicting deadlines with professionalism and exhibit outstanding written and verbal communication skills. This role is essential for ensuring the financial integrity of clinical research activities within the Division of Oncology.
