The Clinical Research Financial Analyst position is a critical role within the Lifespan Office of Cancer Research (LOCR), designed for a high-level performer in clinical research administration. This position operates under the guidance of a Department Research Finance Manager and is responsible for a variety of pre-award and post-award activities related to clinical research studies. The analyst will engage in calendar builds using OnCore, conduct coverage analysis, develop and negotiate budgets, manage sponsor invoicing, and oversee accounts receivable activities. Additionally, the role includes responsibilities for study closeout activities, grant applications, and patient charge segregation. In this role, the Clinical Research Financial Analyst will manage the financial aspects of assigned clinical research projects, ensuring effective planning, development, monitoring, and coordination of departmental research administrative activities. The analyst will collaborate closely with faculty and researchers, providing guidance on the preparation of sponsored research projects and the financial management of both sponsored and institutional funds. The position encompasses a diverse range of funding types across various phases of clinical research, particularly in adult and pediatric hematology-oncology. The analyst will serve as a key point of contact, facilitating communication and problem resolution among department research administration, faculty, divisional leaders, and other hospital and university departments. The responsibilities are divided into pre-award and post-award management, where the analyst will facilitate study startup activities, identify funding opportunities, prepare grant applications, manage the grant submittal process, and ensure compliance with sponsor guidelines. Post-award responsibilities include preparing and submitting invoices, tracking payments, updating budgets, and managing budget spending to ensure compliance with both sponsor regulations and Lifespan policies. The analyst will also maintain comprehensive records of expenses, prepare reports, and represent the department in various meetings.
