About the position

The Clinical Research Financial Analyst position at the University of Virginia's Cancer Center Office of Clinical Research involves developing budgets for clinical trials and managing financial processes related to trial expenses. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulations governing clinical research billing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop standardized costs for clinical trials and create budget templates for types of trials.
  • Develop and negotiate budgets for new and amended clinical trials, including costs for protocol-required tests/procedures and applicable invoiceable services.
  • Facilitate and participate in clinical trial contract negotiations between sponsors and university officials.
  • Facilitate the review and/or update of the study billing coverage analysis, ensuring compliance with federal and institutional regulations.
  • Invoice the sponsor for administrative fees, invoiceable procedures, patient visits, and patient reimbursement.
  • Continuously review and manage grants/funds throughout the study and reconcile payments at study closure.
  • Collaborate with study teams and internal departments to ensure appropriate fees and billing procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • At least one year of experience in a related field.
  • Licensure such as CMA, CFA, CTP, or CPA is typically acquired while in the position.

Benefits

  • Anticipated hiring range of $55,000 - $70,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
