About the position

The Clinical Research Informatics Analyst plays a vital role in bridging the gap between clinicians, researchers, and data teams at a prestigious research university in Los Angeles. This hybrid position focuses on advancing clinical and translational research to improve patient care through the development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of informatics applications and data management in clinical research.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between clinicians, researchers, and data stewards to streamline clinical research processes.
  • Interface with stakeholders on software development, maintenance, and operations.
  • Develop, test, and implement applications and algorithms for healthcare data collection, organization, and analysis.
  • Curate, document, and maintain healthcare data in a data warehouse.
  • Apply clinical knowledge to develop tools, procedures, and analyses that improve patient care and healthcare operations.
  • Collaborate with IT service providers and vendors to ensure tailored solutions meet operational needs.
  • Assist in the preparation of scientific publications, presentations, and grant proposals.
  • Analyze and optimize clinical workflows, leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and patient outcomes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management, Health Informatics, or a clinical field (with certification in Health Informatics) OR Bachelor's Degree in Informatics, Computer Science, Statistics, Biomedical Engineering, or Artificial Intelligence with certification in Health Informatics (required)
  • At least 2 years of experience in clinical research and clinical informatics.
  • Experience in clinical operations, Health Information Management, or care management.
  • Familiarity with clinical standards, coding, definitions, ontologies, and taxonomies.
  • Experience in implementing new technologies in clinical settings.
  • Proficient in SQL, Python, or similar coding languages.
  • Ability to interact with and interpret healthcare data using self-service tools.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for liaising between clinical stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Experience in optimizing clinical workflows to improve efficiency, accuracy, and patient outcomes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience working in an academic healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with clinical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and data curation.
