This Clinical Research internship is designed for recent college or university graduates, providing a formal opportunity to gain exposure to the lifecycle of clinical research projects. Interns will work under the mentorship of a Principal Investigator (PI) and will engage in a combination of learning and research support activities. The internship is structured to last a maximum of two years, during which interns will receive regular feedback and are expected to produce a publication based on their experiences. Interns will be involved in collecting experimental data for research protocols, which includes working with research subjects, running experimental procedures, and transferring data for non-complex studies outside of the Electronic Health Record (EHR). They will also assist in maintaining study-specific equipment, processing research samples, analyzing data with oversight from the PI and study statisticians, designing and programming research experiments, and preparing grant proposals, conference abstracts, and manuscripts. Additionally, interns will review scientific literature to stay updated on developments in their field and attend department-wide research meetings and training sessions.
