About the position

The Clinical Research Manager for the Department of Medicine Research Program is responsible for overseeing a team of Clinical Research Coordinators and Nurses. This role involves managing day-to-day operations, performance management, recruitment, training, and scheduling within the research unit. The manager will track trial metrics, assist with budget monitoring, and provide oversight on clinical trials, ensuring effective collaboration and support for the Clinical Trials Director.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee a team of Clinical Research Coordinators and Nurses.
  • Coordinate recruitment, training, staff development, and scheduling for CRC/Ns within the research unit.
  • Track and monitor trial metrics for active studies, including screening, enrollment, and screen failures.
  • Identify obstacles to enrollment and work with the study team to resolve issues.
  • Compile invoiceable activity for trials in collaboration with the study team.
  • Assist with trial budget monitoring alongside the Clinical Trial Financial Specialist and Clinical Trials Director.
  • Support workload planning and staff resource management for the Clinical Trials Director.
  • Serve as a study team member on trials to provide oversight and assist with emergency study coverage.
  • Participate in educational planning for monthly CRC/N staff meetings.
  • Assist with CTMS/Epic study builds and other startup activities as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, science, or related field required.
  • Master's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of four years of experience in a clinical trial/research setting with a master's degree, or six years of experience with a bachelor's degree required.
  • Prior clinical trial and/or staff management experience preferred.
  • Certification as a Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) or Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) preferred upon hire.
