The Clinical Research Pharmacist Intern at Bristol Myers Squibb will play a vital role in supporting the Pharmacy Services team of Clinical Research Pharmacists (CRPs) in their daily operations and special projects. This internship is designed for individuals who are currently enrolled in a pharmacy program and are seeking to gain practical experience in a clinical research setting. The primary objective of the Clinical Research Pharmacist is to provide pharmacy expertise in the development, management, and handling of investigational products at both program and protocol levels. This includes creating pharmacy manuals that will be utilized by healthcare personnel at clinical sites, ensuring that investigational products are handled correctly and safely. As an intern, you will work closely with an assigned Clinical Research Pharmacist, gaining hands-on experience in various key responsibilities. You will support pharmacy services strategies and processes for Clinical Supply Chain (CSC) supported clinical studies, and provide assistance to Global Development Operations (GDO) in the development of clinical study protocols. This involves offering clinical pharmacy guidance on the handling, preparation, and administration of investigational products at clinical sites. You will also be responsible for educating clinical site personnel through in-services, investigator meetings, and site initiations or follow-up visits, ensuring they understand the proper handling and use of investigational products. Additionally, you will interface with the clinical team to assess site capability and feasibility prior to site selection, liaise with Global Quality and Regulatory Compliance to ensure pharmacy practices align with local regulations, and interact with Medical and Commercial teams to provide pharmacy expertise. The role may also involve collaborating with Drug Product Development (DPD) and Strategic Innovation teams to contribute practical pharmacy expertise for developing use time studies and product preparation methods. Overall, this internship offers a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful work that contributes to the advancement of clinical research and patient care.
