About the position

The Clinical Research Program Manager will lead and manage clinical research projects within the Penn Infectious Disease Clinical Research Unit, focusing on areas such as HIV and COVID-19. This role involves overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring effective communication among stakeholders. The Program Manager will also support grant development, budget management, and the implementation of innovative strategies to enhance research collaborations and project success.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and project management for clinical research and clinical trials.
  • Oversee daily operations of the Penn Infectious Disease Clinical Research Unit.
  • Manage relationships between physicians, sponsors, and academic centers.
  • Lead operational planning for research activities and ensure effective communication across stakeholders.
  • Support grant development and participate in budget management.
  • Develop and measure programmatic metrics for financial management of projects.
  • Report on programmatic metrics and implement innovative approaches for research expansion.
  • Develop innovative communication strategies for research-related information.

Requirements

  • Master of Science degree and 5 to 7 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Progressively responsible project management and supervisory experience in an academic institution managing clinical research projects.
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and form strong business relationships.
  • Effective in setting and meeting personal goals and managing multiple project tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience in developing and implementing processes and operations, including SOPs and training tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to anticipate project-related issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal, multi-tasking, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of regulations for clinical trials, including Title 21 CFR and ICH Guidelines.
