About the position

The Clinical Research Project Financial Coordinator (PFC) plays a crucial role in supporting the financial and accounting aspects of clinical research activities. Reporting to the Director of Research Operations, the PFC is responsible for managing financial transactions related to multiple ongoing clinical trials, ensuring compliance with project timelines and contractual obligations. This position involves both pre-award budget development and post-award financial management, including invoicing and revenue tracking, while maintaining communication with sponsors and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-award budget development and negotiation assistance with Pharmaceutical Sponsors.
  • Manage post-award financial management of industry-sponsored clinical trials, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable, Reconciliation, and Closeout Processes for clinical trials.
  • Complete timely and accurate invoicing processes compliant with policies.
  • Track start-up and recurring fees and support fee recognition and transfer processes.
  • Prepare active study reports for review and monthly distribution.
  • Communicate with Sponsors for problem resolution and outstanding receivables.
  • Interface with MDs and Practice management regarding earnings and projected revenue.
  • Work with leadership to create and maintain financial forecasts and mitigate risks.
  • Review scope of work with Project Management team to ensure compliance with revenue and cost parameters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience with invoicing, post-award finance or accounting in a healthcare or research setting.
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects and handle high volumes of studies.
  • Ability to meet priority deadlines and manage sensitive information confidentially.
