The Clinical Secretary for the Emergency Department at Middlesex Health is a part-time position that requires providing essential secretarial support to medical staff, medical offices, and physicians. Responsibilities

  • Provide secretarial support to medical staff and physicians in the Emergency Department.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to support the department in non-nursing operational duties.
  • Communicate effectively with medical staff, patients, and other departments.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by the department.
  • Assist in scheduling appointments and managing patient flow in the Emergency Department.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required.
  • Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in English.
  • Previous work experience in a medical setting is preferred, particularly with medical terminology.
  • Proficient computer skills are necessary.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a healthcare environment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
