About the position

The Clinical Secretary at the Pain Clinic plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic and providing excellent service to patients. This full-time position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, specifically from Monday to Friday, with working hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The Clinical Secretary will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks that are essential for the efficient functioning of the clinic. This includes answering phones, greeting patients, and routing calls to the appropriate staff members. Scheduling patient appointments is a key responsibility, as is obtaining and verifying insurance information to ensure that patients receive the necessary services without delay. In addition to these duties, the Clinical Secretary will coordinate patient ancillary testing with other hospital departments, ensuring that all necessary tests are scheduled and completed in a timely manner. The role also involves entering patient charges into the system and verifying these charges, reconciling them as directed by the management. The Clinical Secretary will be responsible for assembling new patient charts and maintaining existing patient charts, which includes filing and auditing charts for data completeness and required signatures. Appointment reminders will also be part of the responsibilities to ensure patients are informed of their upcoming visits. The position requires dual training as a Patient Care Assistant, allowing for cross-covering if needed.
