About the position
The Clinical Support Representative Float plays a crucial role in the Berkshire Faculty Services multispecialty physician practice team by covering for absent Clinical Support Representatives. This position is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of front office tasks, providing quality care, and delivering excellent customer service to patients. The representative will engage in various duties including patient registration, scheduling, reception, and payment collection, while also managing phone calls and addressing any potentially problematic situations with calmness and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Cover for absences of Clinical Support Representatives in the Berkshire Faculty Services practices.
- Ensure quality care and excellent customer service to patients.
- Handle patient registration and scheduling.
- Manage reception duties and collection of payments.
- Triage telephone calls appropriately and address issues calmly.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain smooth office flow.
Requirements
- One to two years of administrative experience in a busy office, preferably in a physician practice.
- Experience in handling multiple phone lines.
- Excellent clerical and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of Windows-based PC applications.
- Knowledge of department-specific services preferred.
- Insurance knowledge and billing experience strongly preferred.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Typing speed of 40 WPM required.
Nice-to-haves
- Two years of college or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with experience dealing with agitated patients and families.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated competency in handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Knowledge of community services.
