About the position

The Clinical Specialist position in Communications, Journalism, and Film at The College of New Jersey is a non-tenure track role focused on teaching undergraduate courses in Digital Journalism. Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses in Digital Journalism, including but not limited to Data Journalism, News Editing and Production, and Social Media Strategy.
  • Advise students and provide support for their academic and professional development.
  • Contribute to the department's mission of promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the learning environment.
  • Engage in curriculum development and enhancement of existing courses.
  • Participate in departmental service and community engagement activities.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Journalism or a closely-related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Journalism, Non-fiction storytelling, or Digital communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster inclusive learning environments and mutual respect among students and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least 3 years of experience teaching undergraduate Journalism or related courses as the instructor of record.
  • Experience with immersive media (virtual, augmented, and extended realities).
